Makrygialos or Long Beach is situated on the south coast about twentyfive minutes by car down the mountain from The Lemon Tree. This is a long
stretch of sandy beach with the seas waves gently lapping at the shore or on windier days watch the waves and the surfers who have come down to take advantage of the sea.

Situated 25km down the mountain is the busy town of Siteia. This is a lovely town with a backdrop of the blue sea, well known for its fine olive oil and red wine. Set around the harbour, boats bob on the sea and restaurants line the sea front. A stroll at night in the summer allows you to feel part of a magical land where lights glimmer or you can sit and watch the world pass by, as holidaymakers stroll on the front in their finest attire.
