We are Mark, Anita and our boys, Charlie and Georgie at The Lemon Tree. Mark is the chef and Anita is an escaped teacher. Both Charlie and Georgie were born on Crete and are growing up in the Greek sunshine in the shade of the lemon trees.

We arrived in August 2005 and started a renovation project to create a special place where people can heartily and comfortably stay in a relaxing and peaceful location.

We came in search of sunshine, fresh air, the mountains and a beautiful tranquil setting, which we have found here in the village of Handras in east Crete. At The Lemon Tree we offer a warm welcome to our guests. We found the home we dreamt of in this traditional Greek village and have received a warm welcome from the villagers and the people of Sitia  - which we are sure they will extend to you.
